PHILADELPHIA — The Drexel University community is mourning after a student died Sunday afternoon in a tragic incident at The Summit at University City, an affiliated off-campus student housing complex near the university.
The incident was reported shortly after 3 p.m. at the 24-story residential tower located at 3400 Lancaster Avenue in Philadelphia.
According to information shared with students by the university, a male student died after an apparent suicide. Emergency responders were called to the scene, and the student was pronounced dead.
The circumstances surrounding the death remain under investigation.

Drexel University notified students of the tragedy and acknowledged the emotional impact the incident could have on members of the university community.
